Fans of Disney’s Frozen franchise finally have something concrete to hold onto. A third film is officially in development, and it now has a theatrical release date set for November 24, 2027.

The update gained extra momentum when Josh Gad, the voice behind Olaf, shared a behind the scenes photo on social media alongside the creative team, holding up three fingers in a playful nod to the next installment. Reports from major entertainment outlets have also indicated that early voice recording has begun, suggesting the film is moving forward steadily behind the scenes.

The original Frozen premiered in 2013 and quickly became a global phenomenon. Featuring the voices of Kristen Bell as Anna and Idina Menzel as Elsa, the film combined emotional storytelling with a soundtrack that dominated pop culture. Its sequel, Frozen II, went even bigger at the global box office and expanded the mythology of Arendelle in more ambitious ways.

For years after Frozen II, speculation about a third chapter continued to build. Disney eventually confirmed that Frozen 3 was in development, and the project is being produced once again by Walt Disney Animation Studios, the same studio responsible for the first two films.
