Gachiakuta is jumping from manga to anime to video game with Breakout

The world of Gachiakuta is getting bigger again.

Com2uS has officially revealed GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT, a survival action RPG based on the manga and anime property, with the game scheduled for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.

Previously announced under the working title GACHIAKUTA: The Game, the project received its official name alongside new gameplay footage during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast.

Welcome back to the Pit

Gachiakuta follows Rudo, a boy living among society’s discarded people before being falsely accused of a crime and thrown into the Pit.

There he discovers a polluted world populated by dangerous Trash Beasts and meets the Cleaners, fighters capable of using unusual objects known as Vital Instruments.

That setup has always felt particularly suitable for a game.

The new footage features Rudo, Enjin, Zanka and Riyo and shows combat against characters including Jabber Wonger.

What kind of game is Breakout?

Com2uS describes BREAKOUT as a survival action RPG rendered in full 3D while attempting to retain the property’s distinctive cartoon-influenced visual language.

Players will fight Trash Beasts and other enemies throughout contaminated areas of the Pit. Confirmed systems include character development, combat-style expansion, graffiti collection and the ability to develop and customise the Cleaners’ headquarters. Real-time co-operative play is also planned.

Those are announced features rather than assumptions based on the anime.

One fandom, three formats

This is what makes Gachiakuta interesting beyond the individual game announcement.

Kei Urana’s manga developed into an anime and is now moving into a major console and PC adaptation.

Instead of treating manga readers, anime viewers and gamers as completely separate audiences, BREAKOUT sits right in the middle of all three.

The game does not yet have an exact 2027 release date.

But it now has a final title, target platforms and actual gameplay footage.

For something once simply called GACHIAKUTA: The Game, that is considerable progress.
