KPop Demon Hunters Returns to Netflix with 22 New Episodes, Dance Videos and HUNTR/X Adventures

By Published On: November 6th, 2026

The wait for KPop Demon Hunters 2 continues, but Netflix has given fans plenty of new reasons to return to the world of Rumi, Mira, Zoey and the Saja Boys.

If you’ve been missing HUNTR/X since the credits rolled on KPop Demon Hunters, Netflix has some good news. The streaming giant has expanded its hugely popular animated franchise with 22 new short-form episodes, bringing approximately 78 minutes of additional entertainment to the platform.

Released on 2 November 2026, the new material includes miniature adventures featuring familiar characters, stop-motion recreations, interactive challenges and official choreography videos inspired by the film’s unforgettable musical performances.

Netflix followed this on 5 November by officially introducing KPop Demon Hunters: For the Fans!, a dedicated collection bringing the film, new extras and existing bonus material together in one place.

And while this isn’t the long-awaited second movie or a conventional new season of the original story, there’s considerably more here than a few behind-the-scenes clips.

HUNTR/X Gets a Six-Episode Backstage Series

One of the biggest additions is HUNTR/X Backstage Pass, a six-episode stop-motion series that imagines what happens when the cameras aren’t following the girls on their usual adventures.

The shorts follow Rumi, Mira and Zoey through rehearsals, photoshoots, songwriting problems and the unpredictable business of being global K-pop stars who also happen to fight demons.

Among the new stories is Demon Dance Battle, in which Mira tries to teach the girls new choreography, only for a suspiciously talented demon janitor to interfere.

In Fashion Show Down, the group’s costumes disappear just before an important awards show, while Photoshoot Face Off brings HUNTR/X and their rivals, the Saja Boys, together for a rather competitive studio session.

Fans of Derpy will also be pleased to discover Day Off with Derpy, which sees the mischievous supernatural tiger repeatedly appearing in the girls’ apartment.

The series leans into the comedy, personalities and everyday chaos that made the characters so entertaining in the original film.

More Stop-Motion Stories and Fan Challenges

The new KPop Demon Hunters PLAYlist collection contains three seasons with 13 episodes in total.

Alongside the six backstage adventures, KPop Toy Creations offers three miniature stop-motion stories recreating and reimagining memorable moments from the movie.

These include the complicated relationship between Rumi and Jinu, the encounter with Derpy and some of the action sequences that fans will immediately recognise.

The third season, Play Games With Us, introduces four episodes featuring playful challenges, toy characters and activities inspired by the K-pop fantasy world.

It’s a different approach to expanding a franchise. Rather than introducing major new storylines or changing the established mythology, Netflix is offering shorter adventures designed to celebrate the characters and encourage fans to join in.

Learn the Dance Moves from Golden, Soda Pop and More

For fans who spent months trying to master the choreography from the film, the new dance collection may be the most exciting addition.

The second season of KPop Demon Hunters Bonus Content introduces nine dance-related videos, running for approximately 29 minutes.

These include official choreography for Golden, How It’s Done, Takedown, Soda Pop and Your Idol.

There is also new animation featuring HUNTR/X rehearsing How It’s Done, along with individual movement features exploring the different performance styles of Rumi, Mira and Zoey.

The choreography content involves dancers and creators associated with the film, including Nain, Leejung Lee and K-Tigers.

Given how important the music was to the movie’s popularity, bringing the performances into a format that fans can actually learn and recreate feels like a natural addition.

What About KPop Demon Hunters 2?

The biggest question, of course, is when fans will see the next full-length adventure.

Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation officially confirmed a sequel in March 2026, with original directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans returning.

The announcement also revealed that the filmmakers had entered a multiyear writing and directing partnership with Netflix.

However, Netflix has not announced an official release date for the second film.

The new collection should therefore be viewed as supplementary entertainment rather than a replacement for the sequel.

It is also important to clarify that reports describing a new six-episode KPop Demon Hunters series are referring to HUNTR/X Backstage Pass, not a newly announced six-part continuation of the main film storyline.

The HUNTR/X Phenomenon Continues

What makes this announcement particularly interesting is how Netflix is approaching the world beyond the original film.

KPop Demon Hunters is no longer simply an animated musical that became unexpectedly popular. Its characters, soundtrack, visual identity and supernatural mythology have developed into a fandom that extends well beyond the movie itself.

The new content offers younger viewers and dedicated fans another way to enjoy that world without waiting years for another feature film.

It’s also well timed for the festive season, especially for families looking for something fun to watch, sing along to or dance to during the holidays.

For now, Rumi, Mira and Zoey are back on Netflix, even if their next big-screen-sized adventure remains some way off.

Will you be watching the new HUNTR/X adventures or are you saving your excitement for KPop Demon Hunters 2?
