Meet The Awesome Umbrella Academy Characters and Actors

In the world of The Umbrella Academy, 43 women give birth at once at noon on 1 October 1989, despite the fact that none of them had displayed any signs of pregnancy before labor started. The eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopts seven of the children and forms them into “The Umbrella Academy,” a group of superheroes. Instead of giving the kids names, Hargreeves assigns them numbers; nevertheless, the kids’ robot mother, Grace, subsequently gives six of them names: Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Ben and Vanya. Six of the kids are given jobs battling crime by Reginald, but he excludes Vanya from their antics since he believes she has any special abilities.

The Sparrow Academy is a group of seven children who were all born on the same day and were taken in by Sir Reginald Hargreeves after their counterparts, the Umbrella Academy, altered history.

THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY

*Luther is portrayed by Tom Hopper on the Netflix adaptation of Umbrella Academy*

Powers: Luther’s main abilities are super-strength and endurance. Luther is critically injured while on a solo mission to stop a biochemical threat, and Sir Reginald is forced to use a serum to save his life. Luther’s muscle mass and strength increased dramatically as a result of the serum’s ape-like physiology.

Powers: In the comic books Diego’s main ability is to hold his breath indefinitely. He also has a strong talent for knife-throwing (he can change the direction of projectiles in mid-air; and, though it has not been explored, he may be able to use mild telekinesis).

Powers: Allison can manipulate reality by lying and activating the power with the phrase “I heard a rumour…” In season 3 of the Netflix adaptation, she discovers that she no longer needs to use the phrase “I heard a rumour…” at all.

Powers: In addition to possessing people, broadcasting his consciousness through airwaves (enabling him to converse through televisions), telekinesis, and channeling the dead, Klaus also has the ability to communicate with the dead. In the Netflix adaption, he also has the capacity to raise himself from the dead and the power of evocation, which enables spirits to materialize and interact with their surroundings.

Five is portrayed by Aidan Gallagher on the Netflix adaptation of Umbrella Academy

Powers: Medical investigations reveal no evidence of cell development or death, indicating that Five’s body is frozen in time and cannot age. He learned to perform “micro leaps” in time, which gave him the ability to move more quickly than the human eye could perceive. In the comic books, Five is referred to as “the perfect assassin” since he has the DNA of the greatest killers in history poured into him; in the Netflix version, he also has the secondary talent of teleportation and does not need to learn “micro-jumps.” He has a 100% chance of killing if he makes the choice to do so. Five and Spaceboy are revealed to be identical brothers in the Dallas comic books’ plot. He also has a puppy with the name Mr. Pennycrumb. Unlike his siblings, he is only ever referred to by his number in the Netflix series. His assassin persona and lack of a true identity are reflective of him.
