What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim is a charming romantic comedy that turns a familiar workplace setup into an entertaining and surprisingly heartfelt love story. Lee Young Joon is a brilliant but extremely narcissistic vice chairman who is convinced he is the centre of everyone’s world. His highly capable secretary, Kim Mi So, has spent nine years managing every aspect of his life before suddenly announcing that she is resigning to focus on herself.

Caught completely off guard, Young Joon is forced to examine emotions he has long ignored. As the story unfolds, the drama balances light-hearted workplace comedy with a deeper mystery tied to childhood trauma, adding emotional weight to the romance. Park Seo Joon perfectly captures Young Joon’s inflated ego while making him endlessly charismatic, and Park Min Young brings warmth, intelligence, and quiet confidence to Mi So.

Although the series relies on several well-known romantic comedy tropes, its sharp humour, strong chemistry, and excellent comedic timing make it consistently engaging. It may not reinvent the genre, but it excels at delivering exactly what fans want: a fun, feel-good romance with memorable characters and plenty of heart.
