When the Stars Gossip Review
When the Stars Gossip is a rare blend of sci-fi, romance, and workplace comedy set in space—yes, space. The story follows Gong Ryong, an earnest OB-GYN played by Lee Min-ho, who ends up on a space station for a civilian mission. There, he meets Eve Kim, a no-nonsense astronaut played by Gong Hyo-jin, and the two clash, flirt, and eventually connect—all while floating in zero gravity. It’s a bold concept for a K-drama, and while the tone can feel uneven at times—bouncing between romance, satire, and melodrama—the show has a lot of charm. The chemistry between the leads is solid, the production design is surprisingly polished for a K-drama space setting, and the supporting cast adds humor and heart. It’s not for everyone, but it’s different in the best way.
Final score: 7.5 out of 10. Offbeat, romantic, and refreshingly weird. A rom-com that dares to launch beyond Earth.
