Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice 2 has been in the works for 36 years, and it’s about time.
The journey to bring this quirky horror-comedy-fantasy movie back to life has been nothing short of wild. Initially, a sequel called Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian was proposed back in 1990, but it never made it to production. Warner Bros. revisited the idea in 2011, only to shelve it again in 2019.
Finally, in 2022, with the backing of Brad Pitt’s studio Plan B Entertainment, Beetlejuice 2 got the green light once more. Filming commenced in May 2023, and we’re all eagerly awaiting its release, tentatively scheduled for 6 September 2024.
The star-studded cast includes original favorites like Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara, alongside newcomers like Jenna Ortega and Monica Bellucci.
