Steam Halloween Sale 2014
The annual Steam Halloween sale is here, and (in my opinion) in comparison to other years it’s pretty meh. Although one must take in regard that this isn’t the Summer sale which is still to come and will most likely bring the BIG sale we are all looking for. Until then here is some games that are on sale which we can recommend:
Bioshock Tripple Pack: Includes Bioshock 1, 2 and Infinite
Bundle cost: $11.99

I can highly recommend this game. Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite are both incredible games. Personally I prefer Bioshock 1 over Infinite but with the DLC available for Infinite they do take you back to Rapture.
Fallout 3: Game of the year edition
Cost: $6.79

Fallout 3 is a amazing open world post-apocalyptic game. Unfortunately the game isn’t optimized to run on Windows 7 and will give you a ton of bugs when trying to play this, but you can get fan-made patches to fix the game. If you enjoy RPG’s and FPS games and is a fan of post-apocalyptic games, give Fallout 3 a shot.

Darksiders Franchise pack
Bundle cost: $8.99
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/18777/?snr=1_7_7_230_150_1
This is a really good deal – not only do you get Darksiders 2 with all the DLC, but you also get Darksiders 1, which is a good game as well. When I last played the game I had some stuttering issues, but from what I can tell there are ways to fix it.

Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition
Cost: $6.79

With Fallout New Vegas you return to the wastes, not as the lone wanderer, but as the courier. Personally for me I prefer New Vegas over Fallout 3, as once again the game is severely buggy and will crash multiple times, but fortunately you can get fixes for the game from PCgaming wiki

The Walking Dead
Cost: $6.24
http://store.steampowered.com/app/207610/?snr=1_7_7_230_150_2
Based on the comic and hit tv show, The Walking Dead is an adventure game by Telltale games. If there is one game on this list I can recommend above all else, it is The Walking Dead. If you don’t like adventure games then this is not for you. One of the best descriptions of the game I heard is that it could be called “The Walking Feels“.
The Walking Dead Season 2
Cost: $12.49
http://store.steampowered.com/app/261030/?snr=1_7_7_230_150_1
Disclosure: I have not played this game as yet. Due to the price and how great the first game was, I can recommend this.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition:
Cost: $3.99
http://store.steampowered.com/app/20920/?snr=1_7_7_230_150_2
Disclosure: I have never played the Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, but with the Witcher 3: the Wild hunt being released soon and considering the Witcher games have been widely acclaimed and the great price they are asking, there has never been a better time to play the Witcher 2.
Outlast
Cost: $6.79
http://store.steampowered.com/app/238320/?snr=1_7_7_230_150_2
Outlast is one of the most intense horror games I have ever played. What happens when you are stuck in an insane asylum with cannibal Hillbilly’s and you have no weapon and only a camcorder with you? You will have to play Outlast to find out.
System Shock 2
Cost: $2.49
http://store.steampowered.com/app/238210/?snr=1_7_7_230_150_4
For the price this is a steal! I would still personally go with the GoG (good old games) version as it’s DRM free and will run on modern systems, but it still is a great buy. This game was also covered on Nerdipop’s Top 5 Games that should be remade but shouldn’t (http://nerdipop.co.za/top-5-games-remade-shouldnt/).
Dead space
Cost: $4.99
http://store.steampowered.com/app/17470/?snr=1_7_7_230_150_5
Dead Space is one of those survival horror series games which I personally think got one aspect of horror wrong: they tend to show the monsters way too much! To be honest it feels like the monsters rush at you like they want to give you a big bone-spined hug. One must take into regard that this is a fun survival horror game – the sequel is pretty good, the third one not bad. I would like to try co-op mode sometime – any volunteers?
Happy gaming!
