Rise of the Guardians is a 2012 American computer-animated fantasy film based on William Joyce’s book series The Guardians of Childhood and the short film The Man in the Moon by Joyce and Reel FX.

The film takes place around 200 years after the events of the book series.

There is a whole book series written by William Joyce on which The Rise of the Guardians have been based on, explaining the origin of each character in depth. The book series is called – The Guardians of Childhood.
