This is a very good rendition of the classic story by Charles Dickens. What makes it different from other versions is that it is a fully animated 3D movie and stars Jim Carrey as the voice of multiple characters – including Ebenezer Scrooge as a young, middle-aged, and old man, and the three ghosts who haunt Scrooge.

The story follows Ebenezer Scrooge, a miser who despises Christmas. He is awoken by spirits on Christmas Eve, who explain his own sad existence, the opportunities he squandered as a child, his current cruelties, and the horrible fate that awaits him if he does not change his ways.

A Christmas Carol is a novella written by Charles Dickens, an English author. Chapman & Hall initially published it on December 19, 1843. The story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a bitter old miser, and his change as a result of a ghostly visit from the spirit of his former business partner Jacob Marley, as well as the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Yet to Come, is told in A Christmas Carol. The novella was an instant hit with readers and critics alike.
The book was written and published in early Victorian Britain, during a time when there was a strong nostalgia for ancient Christmas traditions, as well as the introduction of new ones like Christmas trees and greeting cards. The story’s sources appear to be numerous and varied, but they mostly include Dickens’ humiliating childhood memories, his pity for the poor, and other Christmas stories and fairy tales.
