Watch Elf if you haven’t already begun to feel Christmassy. Will Ferrell plays a human who is raised by elves (and inadvertently believes he is an elf) and causes havoc at Santa’s Toys Shop because of his human stature. He then decides to find his biological father.
This is such an entertaining movie. Will Ferrell is excellent with his over-excitement for Christmas and for Santa Claus. This movie’s holiday spirit is very contagious!

- Will Ferrell suffered from plenty of health issues as a result of all the sugar he consumed during filming (syrup spaghetti and loads of candy).
- Will Ferrell did not perform Buddy’s 12-second burp. It’s actually performed by the same actor that played Brain in Pinky and the Brain.
- Will Ferrell worked as a mall Santa before launching his acting career. His elf was Chris Kattan (Saturday Night Live).
- Elf’s sets, such as Walter’s apartment and Gimbals’ toy department, were constructed at an abandoned mental hospital in Vancouver, the same facility where New Line shot Freddy Vs. Jason.
