We adore Korean dramas for their fascinating plotlines, charming characters and stunning production values.

You might not be aware, but some of the actors in these dramas are also talented singers. Many K-drama actors have over the years demonstrated their impressive vocal skills on the soundtracks of the dramas they star in, and sometimes even in the drama itself!

Their singing ability has given the audience’s overall entertainment experience, which ranges from ballads to rock, a new dimension. This will look at some of the K-drama actors who can sing and who have won fans over with their musical talents.

(1) Ji Chang-Wook

Ji Chang-Wook is not only a well-known actor but also a gifted singer. His vocal excellence has been on display in several his drama series, including The K2 and Suspicious Partner, where he sang songs from the OSTs. He most recently performed the lead vocals in the fantastic musical The Sound of Magic released in 2022.

 

(2)  Park Bo-gum

Talented singer and actor Park Bo-gum appeared in the films Reply 1988, Love in the Moonlight and Record of Youth, amongst others. He has released several songs, including My Person and Let’s Go See the Stars.

(3) Kim Seol-hyun

Kim Seol-hyun, who is best known for her role as Baek Ma-ri in the K-drama Orange Marmalade, is a part of the K-pop girl group AOA and has released several songs with the group. She also provided vocals for a few of the drama’s songs, including Stay and I Just Wanna Love You.

Park Hyung-sik, known for his success in many popular K-dramas, including Strong Woman Go Bong Soon has alongside his acting career contributed to various South Korean soundtracks, achieving chart success with recordings like “True Colors” for Trolls and “I’ll Be Here” for Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth.

Actor and singer Park Hyung-sik has appeared in K-dramas like Hwarang, Strong Girl Bong-soon, and Suits. Besides this, she has released several songs, such as I’ll Be Here and The Heirs OST.

IU – Known for her work in Hotel del Luna, My Mister, and Scarlet Heart: Ryeo, IU is a well-known singer and actress. She has put out a lot of popular songs, like Good Day and Palette.

Actor and singer Lee Joon-gi has starred in several well-known K-dramas, such as Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Criminal Minds, Flower of Evil and Lawless Lawyer. Along with singles and albums, he has also released Deucer and Together.

(7) Bae Suzy

Bae Suzy, an actress and singer, became well-known when she joined the girl group Miss A. She also has acted in several K-dramas, such as Dream High (2011), Uncontrollably Fond (2016), Vagabond (2019), Gu Family Book (2013), While You Were Sleeping (2017), Start-Up (2020), Anna (2022) and Doona (2023).

(8) Choi Sung-eun

South Korean actress and singer Choi Sung-eun was previously a member of the girl group ARIAZ and in 2019 she made her solo debut with the release of her single Beautiful. The soundtracks of several K-dramas, including The King’s Face, The Bride of Habaek, and Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter, have also been influenced by Choi Sung-eun. She has demonstrated her vocal prowess in both solo and group projects. She also sings in K-drama musical, The Sound of Magic (2022).

The actor Hwang In-youp, who portrayed Han Seo-jun in True Beauty, is also a gifted singer. Hwang In-youp sang the vocals for the songs that his character Seo-jun sang in the drama. Seo-jun is a member of the school rock band Eye Candy. I’m in the Mood for Dancing, sung by Eye Candy with Hwang In-youp on lead vocals, is one of the most well-known songs from the True Beauty soundtrack. Fans of the drama loved the song, which also featured Hwang In-voice. He also featured in The Sound of Magic.

(10) Yeo Jin-goo

Yeo Jin-goo, a South Korean actor who also sings, has shown off his vocal prowess. He has contributed vocals to several songs for the drama soundtracks in which he has appeared, such as:
